About
The global imperative of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 demands innovative solutions across all nations, including Japan. Recognizing this urgency, ONE Innovators has established a dedicated venture capital fund focused on the carbon-neutral sector. Our mission is to empower technological advancements with the potential for real-world implementation between 2030 and 2040, ultimately contributing to the realization of net-zero emissions by 2050.
Our Approach to Carbon Neutrality
Innovations in the carbon-neutral sector arise through collaboration among startups, which are the driving force, universities and other research institutions, carbon-neutral aiming companies, financial institutions offering industry-transcending solutions, and policymakers who create new regulations. The goal is to scale these innovations, developed between 2030 and 2040, to achieve a carbon-neutral status by 2050.
ONE Innovators
ONE
Significant innovations often come from learning from failures and persistently trying again. Thomas Edison, a prolific inventor, and serial entrepreneur, famously said during the process of inventing the lightbulb after more than 10,000 experiments, "The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time." Success on the first try is rare for startups, especially in challenging fields like carbon neutrality. By learning from failures and continuously tackling new challenges, we create innovation from zero. We work as one team with startup executives to bring these innovations to life.
Innovators
We are more than just startup supporters- we’re co-innovators, constantly pushing boundaries alongside them. The investment team of ONE Fund 1 has been tackling the realization of innovations in the carbon-neutral sector even before the terms "carbon-neutral" and "deep tech" were coined. Believing that "people" are the primary linkers, we devote our full efforts to supporting our investments in executing their strategies.
The logo of ONE Innovators is based on the kanji character for "person". It symbolizes the essential collaboration among four key sectors: universities and research institutions, business corporations, financial institutions, and policymakers. This collaboration is visually represented through the image of a "Tasuki," the sash passed between runners in an "Ekiden," a Japanese long-distance relay race. This symbolizes how these sectors support each other and work together as a team, continuously advancing efforts to create a sustainable global environment.
